" Two poor musicians meet on a bridge in the dreary industry of Berlin-Schöneweide.
"And, are you jumping?" "Yes, every night.”
Starting like a gag is a sad story. She is unemployed, working as a call girl and seeing no reason in life anymore.
He distributes leaflets at festivals and sells his soul to the devil. Together they philosophize about time travel,
hyper capitalism and dimensional leaps. He types in beats, she whispers into the microphone. 6 years later: The

Deadpixies music is electronic, lyrical and dark.
"There is nothing right in the wrong!"
Everything is a copy of the copy. We have long lost the original.
Deadpixies recycle and exploit what existence leaves of wordless messages and symbolic attempts
to overcome the consistent loneliness in a world of ambiguity. We´re cut off of our true nature,
feeling lost in cities and noise.
Sometimes it leads to adding samples of city sounds from Berlin into their music so called audio readymades
with sounds of a bus stopping at a station, street statements or noise samples. These audio collages and
photo collages help create songs and lyrics, even the bands name came accidently.
It just happens to be reminiscent of the well-known band "the Pixies".
"The world is a continuum, everything is connected to everything.
The unity and wholeness of the world we can perceive only through the poetic act of romanticization-" says
singer EVE ÄIR.
She has studied philosophy, medicine and has been singing in bars and dark neighborhoods since childhood.
Like her musical partner she believes in time travel "When everything is connected, I can always be everywhere.
My body oscilates and vibrates and thus permeates the dimensions through music, "says the soundmaster of
Deadpixies MartyMacFly. He has owned the Comart sound studios in Berlin for 10 years and produces national
Well aware of Björk's song human behavior the Deadpixies design an artificial creature: trashy, technical,
fragile: Dolly is the thin electronic projection of our machine culture. She is like a machine version „Automata“
from romantic author E.T.A. Hoffmann. This is a reference to the early nineteenth century conflict between science
and mechanics on the one hand and magic and mesmerism on the other hand. But Dolly is also a forecast of human
future, in which we might be born with digital body parts or even as robots. She is the incorporated inhuman human.
Besides these conflicts and theories the lyrics reflect on the inhumanity of being human, eating meat but having
pets, loving but killing what we love.
"Human versus nature, human versus machine, human versus human. Why do we only recognize ourselves "versus" the
Thoughts about destruction, persecution and demonization pervade the entire music project.
The name of the singer EVE ÄIR derives from Jewish mythology: Lilith, the first wife of biblical Adam,
was there before Eve. But Lilith did not want to bow to Adam and fled the Garden of Eden. She joined forces
with the demons in the air. An in damnation she became the demonic Eve of the skies, Eve Aeir.
The first music video of the Deadpixies "One Day"... is a hypnotic fairy tale with a brutal ending.
The video was quite an adventure because the debut single was a NoBudget production.
Fifteen friends met on the outskirts of Berlin in illegal places, without a permit to shoot
and with no way out. The typical Berlin motto: no cash, full risk. "When the police came by
after the first pictures, I thought: Awake for 7 hours, 6 hours of set construction, no car,
no help and then stop? No, we won´t let them bring us down! " said Marty Mac Fly, the band's soundmaster.
Deadpixies is the TripHop vision of an unbreakable life: A mix of myths and pop culture.
"Marty MC Fly was my hero in the '80s," says the producer of Deadpixies MartyMacFly.
"With his 80s skateboard and the crazy wise man he travelled the future and changed the past.
Music can do that too. At least we try it.
